Dog and Cat Grooming/Daycare Receptionist
Job description
A successful candidate for this position will be someone who not only embraces a service culture, but is a collaborator, initiative-taking, takes direction well, has excellent communication skills, and attention to detail. This is a service-related industry, and you should not only be skilled at customer service, but enthusiastic about helping people. As a Pet Host, you are the first impression of our business.
Hours are 11:00am to 6:00pm Tuesday – Saturday (hours may vary due to schedule changes)

Duties:
- Ensuring customers and clients are treated with dignity and respect. Create and maintain strong relationships.
- Answer all incoming calls, checking and responding voicemails and emails. Manage any general inquiries about the business.
- Make grooming reservations, schedule appointments, schedule daycare reservations.
- Manage check and credit card transactions and reconciling.
- Interacting and communicating with other staff members to ensure client and pet needs and concerns are addressed.
- General knowledge of all services offered on site and being able to provide solutions to the client’s needs.
- Obtain vaccination records from clients and veterinary offices and input into the computer.
- Manage waitlists, ensuring schedules are utilized to maximum capacity.
- Notifying manager on duty when levels of inventory are low in the following areas: retail, cleaning products for front desk, and office supplies.
- Ensure the front lobby and dog spaces are clean, vacuumed, and free from safety hazards.
And let’s not forget – you are going to scoop some poop, clean up some pee, go home with some fur on you and get lots of sloppy kisses!
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent.
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Email), ability to type 30 wpm.
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, and personality types
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English (Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus)
- Front desk/customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
- Professional animal care: 1 year (Preferred)
